Facebook as Great Pretender

Facebook is like wearing a mask. People don't share who they really are, but how they want the world to see them. They want to cultivate the perception that they are always happy, successful and socially skilled. But in reality, everyone struggles in life.

Recent research has shown that using social networking sites, namely Facebook, can increase people’s stress levels, produce anxiety and negatively affect a person’s sense of self. Using these sites might even cause a person to develop a mental health disorder or exacerbate an existing one. Social media even has the power to quickly spread moods around the world.

Don't compare yourself to cardboard cutouts that people leave behind on Facebook. They  are not real. Compare yourself to the person you want to be, and then ask yourself what steps you can take to become that person.

People feel depressed because they think its real and true , which is not. That's why, do something today that your future self will thank you for. Don't waste your time on Facebook , or any other social media that you are addicted in.

Just alot a certain time of using your social media , because if you don't it'll control you. I , too have a Facebook and manage 5 Pages but only 2 are active which is My Blog Page and the Ice Skating Page. I rarely go to Facebook but when I do , I just share what I wanted to share then scroll through my feed then like some stuffs or even watch Buzzfeed videos. Then I manage my Ice Skating and share some articles then that's about it. Maybe an hour or two of Facebook in a day.

"Don't let Social Media Control You"

"Keep things between each other. Facebook and Twitter doesn't need to know everything"

"Be Confident. Too many days are wasted comparing ourselves to others and wishing to be something we aren't. Everybody has their own strengths and weaknesses , and it is only when you accept everything you are - and aren't - that you will truly succeed"

  6. I have a similar post about facebook too. Facebook has lost its appeal na to me. It's okay to show occasional success but not in an excessive way because it can cause envy. I don't linger long because I feel bad by scrolling. This is the reason why blogging is better hehe.
